Coyote Flight Crew
Coyote Flight Crew Drone Club
About Coyote Flight Crew
The Double Diamond Coyote Flight Crew is an exciting after-school drone club that launched in January 2026. The club gives students hands-on experience with drone technology, where they learn to safely pilot drones and program flight paths while developing teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Through Coyote Flight Crew, students explore real-world STEM applications connected to careers in aviation, engineering, robotics, and technology. Members work together to practice flight skills, learn the basics of coding drones, and build confidence using emerging technologies.
Interest in the club has taken off quickly. Coyote Flight Crew reached its maximum capacity soon after launching and now has a waitlist of students eager to join. As the program grows, the goal is to expand opportunities for more students and eventually participate in student drone competitions.
Coyote Flight Crew is proud to partner with the Desert Research Institute (DRI), which has helped support the program by renting drones to the club as students begin their flight training and coding experiences.
Coyote Flight Crew Fundraiser

Coyote Flight Crew was founded by Mrs. Sehr after she enrolled in and completed drone education courses through the Desert Research Institute (DRI). Through this training, she learned how to safely pilot drones and integrate drone technology into student learning. Inspired to bring these opportunities to Double Diamond Elementary, Mrs. Sehr launched the Coyote Flight Crew to give students hands-on experience with drone flight, coding, and emerging technology.
